August 2nd, 2021

BOSTON, MA ---The City of Boston, Highland Street Foundation, L.L.Bean, and the Boston Red Sox today announced that the seventh annual “Out of the Park” will take place on Saturday, August 28, on the Boston Common. “Out of the Park” is a free, family-oriented event that brings the Fenway Park experience out to the community.

“Out of the Park” will feature a live viewing of the 4:05 p.m. August 28 Red Sox-Indians game at Progressive Field. The NESN broadcast will be shown on a 16x30-foot video screen in the park, courtesy of a feed provided by Xfinity. NESN will also host their pregame show live from the Boston Common, weather permitting, starting at 3 p.m.

“Out of the Park” will begin at 2:30 p.m. with the Red Sox Mobile Showcase, presented by T-Mobile, bringing a batting cage, virtual reality station, pitching accuracy, and other games for families to enjoy. The events will also include many of the signature elements and amenities that can be found in and around Fenway Park and Jersey Street during home games, such as caricaturists, balloon artists, and face painters. Red Sox Mascot Wally the Green Monster, his sister Tessie, along with a live DJ will be present throughout the day. Attendees will also have a chance to take rides on the carousel with free vouchers and participate in giveaways. “Out of the Park” includes free food, provided courtesy of Red Sox partners.

The concept for “Out of the Park,” which is supported by Boston Parks & Recreation, was created in 2014 from a shared focus on community building between the City of Boston, Highland Street Foundation, and the Red Sox. The free event is part of the club’s “Calling All Kids” initiative, an ongoing effort to connect baseball to the next generation of fans.

In addition to L.L.Bean, this year’s Out of the Park event is made possible with support from Coke Zero Sugar, Del’s, Dunkin’, Gatorade, and Nellie’s Free Range Eggs.
