Red Sox recognize Hunger Action Month, raise funds for the Greater Boston Food Bank
Online Auction of Jersey Signed by 30 Players and Coaches Now Open
BOSTON, MA – The Red Sox will mark Hunger Action Month and raise funds for the Greater Boston Food Bank’s annual “Strike Out Hunger” fundraiser beginning today, Hunger Action Day, September 17. An online auction of an autographed jersey signed by 30 Red Sox players and coaches is open now through September 30 at 10 p.m. Fans can visit redsox.com/GBFB to make a bid.
During a two-day fundraising drive, fans may also text G.B.F.B. to 20222 to donate $20 to the Greater Boston Food Bank. Earlier this week, Red Sox pitcher Nick Pivetta shared a video to his social media channels in support of the Strike Out Hunger text-to-donate campaign. Every $1 donation will provide 3 healthy meals to those in need in eastern Massachusetts.
Last held at Fenway Park in 2019, the annual Strike Out Hunger event has raised more than $387,600 and provided more than 1.1 million meals for the hungry across eastern Massachusetts.
