BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today reinstated infielder/outfielder Pablo Reyes from the 10-Day Injured List. To make room on the active roster, the club optioned infielder Enmanuel Valdez to Triple-A Worcester.

Reyes, 30, has batted .303 (43-for-142) with 25 runs scored and 18 RBI in 51 games for the Red Sox this season, setting career highs in hits, runs, doubles (nine), and stolen bases (five). The right-handed hitter has made 23 starts at shortstop and 17 at second base. He played in three rehab games with Worcester, making two starts at second base and one as the designated hitter. Acquired from the Oakland Athletics in a minor league trade on May 12, the Dominican Republic native has hit .259 (113-for-436) with 23 doubles, two triples, and eight home runs in 199 career games with the Pittsburgh Pirates (2018-19), Milwaukee Brewers (2021-22), and Red Sox (2023).
Valdez, 24, has hit .246 (29-for-118) with five doubles, five home runs, and 15 RBI in 41 games for the Red Sox this season, his Major League debut. The left-handed hitter has also batted .249 (43-for-173) with eight doubles, two triples, 10 home runs, and 38 RBI in 51 games for Worcester. Acquired by Boston from the Houston Astros on August 1, 2022, the Dominican Republic native is ranked as the Red Sox’ No. 17 prospect by Baseball America.
