Red Sox select right-handed pitcher Silvino Bracho from Triple-A Worcester

Club Options Right-Handed Pitcher Connor Seabold to Worcester

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today selected right-handed pitcher Silvino Bracho to the active Major League roster from Triple-A Worcester. To make room for Bracho on the active, the club optioned right-handed pitcher Connor Seabold to Worcester following last night’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom made the announcement.

Bracho, 29, most recently pitched Friday against Charlotte, throwing 2.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. The right-hander has posted a 3.16 ERA (11 ER/31.1 IP) and 10.34 strikeouts per nine innings (36 strikeouts) over 18 appearances (one start) for Worcester this season. The Venezuelan native owns a 4.82 ERA (48 ER/89.2 IP) in 92 Major League appearances, all with the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2015-20.

Seabold, 26, was recalled yesterday by Boston and started last night’s game against the Blue Jays, allowing seven runs over 4.2 innings. Ranked by Baseball America as the Red Sox’ No. 22 prospect, the right-hander is 5-1 with a 2.09 ERA (12 ER/51.2 IP) in 11 starts for Worcester this season.
