Major League Baseball today announced Robert Hofmann has joined the league as Vice President, Club Services, reporting to Noah Garden, MLB Deputy Commissioner, Business and Media. With nearly two decades of major sports league and team experience, Hofmann will lead a team working directly with MLB’s 30 Clubs across key business areas including ticketing, sponsorship, marketing and business operations.

“Robert has an impressive track record of advising Clubs and supporting their growth from the league office,” said Garden. “Robert got his start in baseball and we are excited for him to bring his vast talent, knowledge and experience back to our game for the benefit of MLB’s 30 Clubs.”

Prior to joining MLB, Hofmann served as Vice President, Club Business Development at the National Football League where he led the Club Consulting group that advised all 32 clubs on strategic decisions. During his tenure, he was instrumental in working with the clubs by supporting them on key organizational decisions, increasing efficiencies, and sharing best practices to support numerous business lines. He also played an integral role in developing the strategy for the NFL’s Global Markets Program, an initiative to expand international fan engagement.

Prior to the NFL, Hofmann spent over five years as Senior Director, Team Marketing & Business Development at the National Basketball Association, where he served as an in-house sponsorship consultant for over 90 teams across the NBA, WNBA, G-League and 2K League and helped introduce the NBA’s branded jersey patch opportunity.

In addition to roles with the New York Islanders and 160over90 earlier in his career, Hofmann’s first full-time role was with SFX Baseball Group following internships with Major League Baseball and the New York Mets. Hofmann is a graduate of New York University.
