The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed outfielder Ben Gamel on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring.

Infielder Hoy Park has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to take Gamel’s place on the 26-man active roster.

Park was a member of Pittsburgh’s Opening Day roster before being optioned to Triple-A on April 22. He hit .229 (19-for-83) with two doubles, one home run and seven RBI in 26 games with Indianapolis prior to being promoted back to the big leagues today.

Park will wear uniform #44.
