Royals and Entercom agree to five-year extension through 2024

KANSAS CITY, MO (September 16, 2019) – The Kansas City Royals and Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and the unrivaled leader in sports radio, today announced a new five-year extension to broadcast the Royals on 610 Sports Radio (KCSP-AM) through the 2024 season. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. 610 Sports Radio has been the broadcast home of the Royals in the Kansas City market since 2008. “We have been honored to call Entercom our flagship station since our partnership began in 2008,” said Kevin Uhlich, Royals Senior Vice President of Business Operations. “610 Sports Radio is the home of the Royals in Kansas City. It’s a perfect fit for us and our fans, and we are excited to continue that relationship. Per the agreement, all 162 Royals regular season contests, plus all postseason games, will be carried on 610 Sports Radio. In addition, Cactus League Spring Training games from Arizona will be broadcast each season with weeknight and weekend games on 610 Sports Radio, while a new extension of the partnership will include select weekday afternoon games on sister station 1660 The Score (KWOD-AM).
The weekly “Royals Hot Stove” show returns to 610 Sports Radio from January through March. Dates and times of the spring broadcasts as well as the “Hot Stove” show will be announced at a later date.
