Royals announced revised 2021 Spring Training schedule

KANSAS CITY, MO (February 12, 2021) – In conjunction with Major League Baseball, the Kansas City Royals today announced a revised 28-game exhibition schedule for 2021.

The club will now begin its 19th season in the Cactus League on Sunday, February 28 at 2:05 p.m. CT vs. the Texas Rangers at Surprise Stadium. Kansas City’s schedule features 14 home games at Surprise Stadium, plus one game as the visiting team vs. the Rangers on March 26.

The Royals will play every other Cactus League team twice, once at home and once as the road team. The revised Cactus League schedule does not include any split-squad games, but it does include two off days, on Friday, March 12 and Tuesday, March 23.

The Royals’ first six home games will start at 2:05 p.m. CT. Following Daylight Savings on Sunday, March 14, six of the Royals’ remaining eight home games will start at 3:05 p.m. CT. The only exceptions are an 8:05 p.m. CT start on Tuesday, March 16 vs. Seattle, and the Cactus League finale on Monday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. CT vs. Cleveland. Following that game, the Royals will have two off days before their regular-season opener on Thursday, April 1 vs. the Rangers at Kauffman Stadium.
