Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, Make-A-Wish North Texas, American Airlines to celebrate Make-A-Wish Weekend at Globe Life Field April 29-May 1

April 28th, 2022

Arlington, Texas— The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation has partnered with Make-A-Wish North Texas and American Airlines to celebrate Make-A-Wish Weekend at Globe Life Field. The initiative will begin on World Wish Day, Friday, April 29, and extend through Sunday, May 1.

The Texas Rangers Foundation and American Airlines will donate $50,000 to Make-A-Wish North Texas, as well as all 50/50 raffle proceeds from the three-game series against the World Series Champion Atlanta Braves.

As part of the World Wish Day pre-game ceremony, representatives from Make-A-Wish will present the Chris Greicius Celebrity Award to the Texas Rangers and Rangers Foundation. The ball club was named to the 2021 class of winners last November for "playing a pivotal role in furthering the Make-A-Wish mission.”

The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will host Wish Kids, Lola, Luke, Kim and Kody, and their families for an exciting day at the ballpark that includes on-field access to batting practice, a meet-and-greet with Chris Woodward, and a luxury suite experience. Also joining the group will be former Wish Kid Adrian Hernandez, whose wish was granted in 2019 when he met Rangers' third baseman Adrián Beltré at Globe Life Park.

Representatives from the Foundation and American Airlines will present Make-A-Wish North Texas with a check during pre-game ceremonies on Friday prior to the 7:05 p.m. first pitch, followed by the Chris Greicius Celebrity Award presentation.

Presenting the award on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation are Make-A-Wish North Texas Board Chair Vik Bhatia, Interim CEO Charlotte Beattie, and Wish Kid Adrian Hernandez. Neil Leibman, Texas Rangers president, business operations and chief operating officer, and Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation Chairman will accept the award on behalf of the ball club with third-base coach Tony Beasley.

ABOUT MAKE- A-WISH® NORTH TEXAS

Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted hundreds of thousands of life-changing wish experiences worldwide. Our organization's vision is to grant the heartfelt wish of every eligible child battling critical illness. Here across North Texas, we have been working to make this a reality in the 161 counties we serve since our chapter was founded in 1982.

A wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight their illness.

It is because of generous donors, dedicated volunteers and valuable partners in the medical community that each wish becomes a reality. For more information about Make-A-Wish North Texas, visit wish.org/ntx.
