Texas Rangers to play final two games at Globe Life Park in Arlington, September 28-29 versus New York Yankees

**Arlington, TX--**The Texas Rangers will play their final two games ever at Globe Life Park in Arlington Saturday and Sunday, September 28-29 with the 2019 American League East Division champion New York Yankees. The Rangers and Yankees will play on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday at 2:05 p.m., which will be Texas’ 2081st and final regular season game at Globe Life Park. The ballpark has been the Rangers’ home since April 1994.

TICKET AVAILABILITY: Upper level reserved seats remain for Saturday’s game. All reserved seats for the final game on Sunday have been sold except for scattered singles and obstructed view seats. Standing room only tickets for the finale are also on sale. Tickets can be purchased at texasrangers.com, by calling 972RANGERS, or at the Globe Life Park first base box office.

TEXAS 2 SPLIT RAFFLE: On Saturday and Sunday, the Texas 2 Split Raffle, presented by Acme Brick will start with jackpots of $50,000 so the minimum payout to a lucky fan will be $25,000 each game. The remaining proceeds benefit the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. Fans can buy tickets from the time gates open until the last out of the 6th inning.

FINAL SERIES HIGHLIGHTS

TURN OUT THE LIGHTS: The Rangers’ final night game at Globe Life Park is TONIGHT, Saturday, September 28 at 7:05 p.m. All fans entering the park that night will receive a TXU Energy 2010 A.L. Pennant Scoreboard Replica that shows the right field video board after the final out of Game 6 of the American League Championship Series against the Yankees. Country western legend Charley Pride will sing the National Anthem on Saturday. Globe Life Park Era All-Time Team members Hank Blalock, Neftali Feliz, and Ivan Rodriguez will be signing autographs in the New Era Alumni Alley from 6:00-6:45 p.m.

A special ceremony to turn out the lights for the last time will take place after the final out. That will be followed by a TXU Energy Postgame Fireworks show that will be a salute to baseball in Texas and will feature several musical surprises.

THE LAST CHAPTER: The Rangers and Yankees play at 2:05 p.m. on Sunday, September 29 in the Texas franchise’s final game at Globe Life Park in Arlington. All fans entering the park will receive a commemorative Globe Life Park Final Game T-Shirt. The pregame festivities will include on-field recognition of longtime season ticket holders and the Rangers’ entire front office. The Star Spangled Banner will be performed by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, which accompanied the late internationally renowned pianist Van Cliburn in the playing of the National Anthem at the park’s first regular season game on April 11, 1994.

A very special ceremony will follow the final game. Returning members of the Texas Rangers Globe Life Park Era All-Time Team will be introduced at their respective positions on the field. Following the introduction of the All-Time Team and the “final pitch”, the Rangers will dig up home plate at Globe Life Park in Arlington and transport it across the street for a ceremonial installation at the new Globe Life Field.

Home plate will be moved in a parade between the two parks with participants including the Globe Life Park All-Time Team, Rangers ownership and front office employees, City of Arlington officials, and several musical groups, including the Southlake Carroll Dragon Marching Band under the direction of Ken Johnson.

In addition, Arlington Police Department motor officer Dick Hill will lead the parade. Officer Hill, who joined the Arlington Police Department in 1974 after playing in the National Football League with the Bears and Eagles, was part of the motor escort that deliver home plate from Arlington Stadium to The Ballpark in Arlington on October 3, 1993.  

The parade will leave Globe Life Park through the east loading dock before going west on Road to Six Flags, south on Ballpark Way, and west on Randol Mill Road to the North Plaza at Texas Live!, where home plate will be carried into Globe Life Field. Fans can watch the parade along the route or on the Globe Life Park video boards. The ceremony will replicate the event from October 3, 1993, when home plate made the move from Arlington Stadium to The Ballpark in Arlington 

GLOBE LIFE PARK BY THE NUMBERS: The Rangers’ all-time regular season record at Globe Life Park is 1143-936. That includes 220-184 in day games and 923-752 at night. Texas is 46-57 versus the Yankees in the regular season in this park. The Rangers are 9-16 lifetime in postseason play at Globe Life Park, 2-5 against New York.
