IN THE COMMUNITY: Packaging Event with Operation We Care
To commemorate the September 11 National Day of Service, Orioles players and staff, in partnership with OPERATION WE CARE, will host a packaging event on the field at Oriole Park. The Orioles also invited members of the St. Louis Cardinals to participate, and will be joined by ARUNA MILLER, the Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. Together, they will assemble care packages to be sent to active military members and first responders. Located in Salisbury, Md., Operation We Care is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting military and first responders.
FIRST PITCH: Operation We Care
A representative from OPERATION WE CARE will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game. Founded in Salisbury, Md., in 2007, Operation We Care sends more than 2,000 care packages to deployed troops each year.
HEROES CORNER: Baltimore City Fire Department Station 17
In remembrance of those who lost their lives to the September 11 terrorist attacks, the Orioles donated game tickets to members of the Baltimore City Fire Department Station 17 as part of their Heroes Corner program. Following the 9/11 attacks, members of Station 17 joined the Pennsylvania Task Force to aid in search and recovery operations at the World Trade Center. Members of Station 17 also joined the Federal Emergency Management Agency, assisting with search and recovery operations in New York City. Founded in 2021, the Heroes Corner program serves as a way for the Orioles to say thank you and show their appreciation to frontline workers and volunteers in our community.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: Staff Sergeant Christian Teague
STAFF SERGEANT TEAGUE will perform his rendition of the national anthem from behind home plate prior to the game. A 30’ x 42’ flag from Fort McHenry will be lowered from the batter’s eye during the performance. The flag is a replica of the one that flew over Fort McHenry when Francis Scott Key wrote the national anthem.
HONOR GUARD: Baltimore City Fire Department Honor Guard
The BALTIMORE CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT HONOR GUARD will present the colors from the field during the national anthem.

IN THE COMMUNITY: League of Dreams Beep Baseball Clinic
Members of Orange and Black Gives Back, the Orioles employee volunteer program, as well as Orioles Alumni, the Oriole Bird, and Nike RBI supported by Giant Food athletes will volunteer at the League of Dreams' annual Beep Baseball Clinic at the Maryland School for the Blind. Volunteers will assist students as they use adaptive equipment to play baseball. The clinic will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Students from COCKEYSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL will perform their rendition of the national anthem from behind home plate prior to the game.
BIRDLAND MEMBER REWARDS: Mystery Autograph Session
Current Orioles players will sign autographs for select Birdland Members in the Birdland Member Clubhouse prior to gates opening. PREGAME CEREMONY: Folds of Honor Program, presented by Budweiser
The Orioles and Budweiser will recognize IEISHA HALL, a graduate student at the University of Maryland, College Park, in a special pregame ceremony as part of Budweiser's Folds of Honor Program. The Folds of Honor Program provides scholarships to family members of fallen or injured heroes.

Members of LUSTRE QUARTET will perform their rendition of the national anthem from behind home plate prior to the game.
HEROES CORNER: Johns Hopkins Clinical Microbiology Lab
The Orioles donated game tickets to the JOHNS HOPKINS CLINICAL MICROBIOLOGY LAB as part of their Heroes Corner program. The internationally recognized lab provides diagnoses for almost 400,000 patient specimens each year. Founded in 2021, the Heroes Corner program serves as a way for the Orioles to say thank you and show their appreciation to frontline workers and volunteers in our community.
IN THE COMMUNITY: Orange and Black Gives Back at The Food Project
Members of Orange and Black Gives Back, the Orioles employee volunteer program, as well as volunteers from CareFirst, will spend time giving back to THE FOOD PROJECT. The Food Project brings culinary skills, job opportunities, sustainable food sources, mentorship, and hope to the youth of Southwest Baltimore.
UNIVERSITY NIGHT
The Orioles will recognize students, alumni, and supporters of Towson University, the University of Baltimore, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and Virginia State University at the game. Those who purchased the special university night ticket package will receive a unique Orioles hat featuring their school's colors, while supplies last. ADAM JONES RETIRES AS AN ORIOLE
The Orioles will honor JONES in a special pregame ceremony as he officially retires from baseball as a Baltimore Oriole. Acquired by the O's from the Seattle Mariners in 2008, Jones went on to spend 11 seasons with Baltimore. He ranks fourth in Orioles history in at-bats and total bases, fifth in runs scores, home runs, RBI, and extra-base hits, seventh in doubles, eighth in hits and total games played, 10th in triples, and tied for 10th in stolen bases. During his time in Baltimore, Jones earned five All-Star selections, six Heart and Hustle Award nominations, four Gold Glove Awards, three Most Valuable Oriole recognitions, and one Silver Slugger Award.

As part of the City Connect City Changemakers series, the Orioles will recognize an individual who is making a difference in the City of Baltimore at each Friday home game. This week the Orioles will recognize the former Oriole for his philanthropy in the Baltimore community. A three-time Roberto Clemente Award Nominee, he was involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Baltimore, the Orioles Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) Program, and the Maryland YMCA. In addition to monetary donations, Jones gave countless hours to each organization, ensuring the Baltimore youth felt cared for and were given the opportunity for a better future. Jones, with the help of the Orioles, made it possible for hundreds of children to experience an Orioles game. As part of Jones' recognition, the Orioles donated 230 tickets to the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Baltimore for the evening's game.

The Orioles will honor pitcher KYLE GIBSON as the team’s 2023 Roberto Clemente Award nominee. This marks Gibson's third career Roberto Clemente nomination. One of Baseball’s most prestigious awards, the Roberto Clemente Award is bestowed annually to the player who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy, and positive contributions, both on and off the field. In addition to giving his time to countless community groups, Gibson has also helped raise thousands of dollars for local charities this year.
