MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – Joining with select restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery and convenience stores throughout Twins Territory, the Minnesota Twins have launched a new app aimed at supporting essential partners during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Fans can access the “Twins Essential Partners Passport” via the MLB Ballpark app and receive unique stamps by visiting or ordering from participating Broadway Pizza, Caribou Coffee, Chick-fil-A, CUB, Dairy Queen, Kwik Trip, and Perkins Restaurant and Bakery locations as available in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Much like the takeout bingo concepts appearing around the Twin Cities, the Twins Essential Partners Passport encourages fans to support local businesses, while obtaining essential goods and services in their hometown communities and beyond.

To access the Twins Essential Partners Passport, fans should visit the Target Field page within the MLB Ballpark app. Once in the app, click the “Essential Partners Passport” button; then, patronize each business to retrieve the secret code and stamp associated with that partner (partner employees will provide fans with the unique business code, either in-store or via phone for takeout and delivery).

“We wanted to create a unique experience fans can enjoy, while at the same time, support local and national partners who have continued to loyally serve our Twins Territory communities day-in and day-out during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Twins Executive Vice President & CBO Laura Day. “Passport stamps are a fun and novel way for fans to virtually engage with each other as they go about their essential daily activities.”

The Twins plan to add additional passport partners in the future, with the potential for exciting prize opportunities for fans that collect the most stamps.

The Twins Essential Partners Passport was developed by Sideline Sports, Inc., a family-owned and operated fan engagement company, specializing in digital gamification for sports leagues and teams. Sideline works directly with the Major League Baseball (MLB) and National Football League (NFL) league offices, plus dozens of teams across MLB, NFL, the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), the National Hockey League (NHL), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Minor League Baseball (MiLB) and more. Sideline apps engage fans both in-venue and at home.
