Twins recall Stewart from Triple-A Rochester

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Kohl Stewart from Triple-A Rochester. Stewart appeared in 16 games (15 starts) for the Red Wings this season, going 6-5 with a 6.00 ERA (72.0 IP, 48 ER), 36 walks and 62 strikeouts. This will be Stewart’s sixth recall of the season, including twice in July. He has appeared in six games (2 starts) with the Twins, going 2-2 with a 4.66 ERA (19.1 IP, 10 ER).

To make room for Stewart on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-handed pitcher Cody Stashak to Triple-A Rochester. Stashak appeared in five games for the Twins, going 0-1 with a 5.87 ERA (7.2 IP, 5 ER), no walks and nine strikeouts.
