Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn. -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated designated hitter Nelson Cruz from the 10-day Injured List and have optioned right-handed pitcher Zack Littell to Triple-A Rochester.

Cruz, who missed the last nine games with a left wrist strain, is hitting .294 (95-for-323) with 19 doubles, 32 home runs, 76 RBI, 41 walks, 59 runs scored and a 1.035 OPS in 87 games this season.

To make room on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-hander Littell to Triple-A Rochester. Littell appeared in 19 games for the Twins this season, going 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA (25.0 IP, 10 ER), seven walks and 22 strikeouts.
