Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Caleb Thielbar. The Minnesota native has appeared in 109 career major league games, all with the Twins from 2013-15, going 5-3 with a 2.74 ERA (98.2 IP, 30 ER), 30 walks and 79 strikeouts. Thielbar split the 2019 season between Triple-A Toledo (Detroit) and Triple-A Gwinnett (Atlanta), combining to go 2-1 with a 3.22 ERA (78.1 IP, 28 ER), 16 walks and 94 strikeouts in 51 games.
To make room for Thielbar on the 30-man roster, the Twins have optioned outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. who appeared in just one game for the Twins this season as a defensive replacement.
