Major League Baseball today announced the Major League Umpires who have been assigned to the 2026 World Series presented by Capital One. James Hoye, who has been a full-time Major League Umpire since 2010, will work his third career World Series, including his first as the crew chief of the Fall Classic. Hoye was a part of the crews that officiated the 2019 and 2022 World Series.
Hoye’s World Series crew features fellow regular season crew chiefs Dan Bellino and Vic Carapazza, along with Tripp Gibson, Nic Lentz, Gabe Morales and Jim Wolf. It is the third World Series assignment for Wolf (previous: 2015 and 2019); the second career Fall Classic for Bellino (previous: 2021), Carapazza (previous: 2023) and Gibson (previous: 2022); and the first for Lentz and Morales. Bellino will serve as the crew chief in Game Three while Hoye is off the field.
Placing seven umpires on the World Series crew allows for distinct home plate assignments in a potential seven-game series, with one umpire off the field in each game. Major League Umpires Alfonso Márquez, a regular season crew chief, and D.J. Reyburn have been assigned to Replay throughout the Fall Classic. Each of the nine Major League Umpires assigned to the World Series worked the Division Series round of the 2026 Postseason. A complete listing of the World Series umpire rotation accompanies this press release.
All World Series games telecast on FOX will be available to MLB.TV subscribers who are authenticated subscribers to the applicable network through a participating pay TV provider.
ESPN Radio will also provide live national coverage of all 2026 World Series games. MLB Network will air extensive studio coverage throughout the Fall Classic across the Emmy Award-winning MLB Tonight, the Emmy-nominated MLB Central and MLB Now, and Intentional Talk, MLB Network’s longest-running talk show.
Live Spanish-language game broadcasts will be available on FOX Deportes for all games of the World Series, with Univision also airing Game One of the Fall Classic. Spanish-language radio broadcasts for all World Series games will be available on Univision’s TUDN Radio. The 2026 World Series will be distributed by MLB media rightsholders in 16 different languages to fans in more than 200 countries and territories.
