KANSAS CITY -- Prior to tonight’s game at Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox returned catcher Welington Castillo from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list.

Castillo, 32, was placed on the injured list on June 18 (retroactive to June 17) with a strained left oblique. He appeared in five games with Class AA Birmingham and Charlotte on his rehab assignment, going 5-21 (.238) with one home run and five RBI.

 Castillo is hitting .196 (21-107) with five homers and 15 RBI over 34 games this season, his second with the White Sox.
