DETROIT – Following the second game of today’s split doubleheader at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Dylan Covey to Class AAA Charlotte.

Covey, 27, is 1-7 with a 6.88 ERA (40 ER/52.1 IP) and 35 strikeouts in 16 appearances (10 starts) over three stints with the White Sox this season.

With the move, the White Sox 25-man roster returns to 25.
