ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Prior to tonight’s series opener at the Tampa Bay Rays, the Chicago White Sox recalled outfielder Adam Engel from Class AAA Charlotte. He takes the roster spot of outfielder Charlie Tilson, who was optioned to Charlotte following yesterday’s game.

Engel, 27, hit .270 (67-248) with 13 doubles, four triples, nine homers, 29 RBI and 13 steals in 64 games with the Knights after being optioned on May 5. He batted .212 (11-52) with two doubles, one triple, one home run, four RBI and seven runs scored over 26 games this season with the White Sox.
