KANSAS CITY – Prior to tonight’s series opener at Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox reinstated left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochet from the 10-day injured list and optioned right-hander Alex McRae to Class AAA Charlotte.
Crochet, 21, was placed on the injured list on April 29 (retroactive to April 26) with an upper back strain. He has gone 0-2 with a 1.00 ERA (1 ER/9.0 IP), eight strikeouts and one hold over eight relief appearances this season, his second with the club after being selected in the first round (11th overall) of the June 2020 First-Year Player Draft.
McRae, 28, made his season debut with the White Sox on Tuesday night at Cincinnati, working 1.0 scoreless IP with a strikeout.
