White Sox reinstate Yoán Moncada from injured list

CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. the Texas Rangers, the Chicago White Sox returned third baseman Yoán Moncada from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list.

Moncada, 24, was placed on the injured list on August 1 (retroactive to July 31) with a strained right hamstring. He appeared in five rehab games with Charlotte, going 9-22 (.409) with one doubles, two home runs, six RBI and six runs scored.

Moncada is hitting .301/.358/.535 (112-372) with 21 doubles, three triples, 20 home runs, 59 RBI, 31 walks, seven stolen bases and 58 runs scored over 97 games this season. He ranks eighth in the American League in average.
