KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Prior to tonight’s game at Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox traded right-handed pitcher Alex Speas to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for cash considerations.

Speas, 26, was designated for assignment by the White Sox yesterday to make room for outfielder Robbie Grossman on the 40-man roster.
