The Tampa Bay Rays have announced three postgame concerts at Tropicana Field for 2016: The Fray, Bret Michaels and Hunter Hayes. Each concert is free with the purchase of that date's game ticket and will begin immediately following the conclusion of the game. In addition to their game tickets, fans can watch the various acts from the field by purchasing field access passes available at raysbaseball.com/concerts.
Both The Fray and Hunter Hayes will be making their first appearances at Tropicana Field. Bret Michaels performed a postgame concert at Tropicana Field on September 25, 2010.
The Fray will perform on June 18 following the Rays 4:10 p.m. game against the San Francisco Giants. The Fray is comprised of Isaac Slade (pianist/vocalist), Joe King (guitarist/vocalist), Dave Welsh (guitarist) and Ben Wysocki (drummer). The Denver-based foursome formed in 2002 after high school friends Slade and King bumped into each other at a local guitar shop. With four Grammy nominations, The Fray struck a huge chord with audiences and turned their organic grassroots efforts into major success, selling over 4 million albums and 20 million singles worldwide including the multi-platinum hit songs "You Found Me," "How to Save a Life" and "Over My Head (Cable Car)."
Bret Michaels returns to Tropicana Field on July 16 after the Rays host the Baltimore Orioles in a 6:10 p.m. game. As front man for the legendary rock band Poison, Michaels has sold over 30 million records and recorded numerous hit singles including "Talk Dirty to Me," "Something to Believe In," "Nothin' but a Good Time" and the No. 1 smash "Every Rose Has its Thorn." Hunter Hayes will take the stage following the July 30 game against the New York Yankees, which begins at 6:10 p.m. The five-time Grammy nominee is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who broke onto the music scene with his 2011 Platinum-selling, self-titled debut album. Hailed as a "country-rock-blues guitar hero in the making" by the Los Angeles Times, Hayes has three No. 1 singles to his name in "Wanted," "Somebody's Heartbreak" and "I Want Crazy." In 2015, he provided an innovative rollout of new music via streaming and digital platforms, which culminated in the release of a special, three-disc collection ("The 21 Project"). He is currently recording his next studio album.
