Red Sox return Minor League outfielder Eric Filia to Seattle Mariners

The Boston Red Sox returned Minor League outfielder Eric Filia to the Seattle Mariners on Friday and instead received cash considerations to complete the trade that sent left-handed pitcher Roenis Elias to the Mariners on April 23. 
President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski made the announcement.
In the original transaction, Boston sent Elias to the Mariners in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Filia, 25, was acquired by the Red Sox on Tuesday, June 12, but did not pass a physical.
