BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox have added first baseman/outfielder Daniel Palka to the team’s 2023 Spring Training roster as a non-roster invitee.

Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom made the announcement.

Palka, 31, spent 2022 in the New York Mets organization, batting .263 (104-for-395) with 26 home runs and 79 RBI in 109 games with Triple-A Syracuse. The left-handed hitter has appeared in 154 Major League games, all with the Chicago White Sox from 2018-19, batting .218 (109-for-501) with 29 home runs and 71 RBI. A South Carolina native, Palka was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the third round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Georgia Tech.
