MIAMI -- Miami Marlins All-Star pitcher Sandy Alcantara has become South Florida’s must-watch star athlete and now the Marlins are providing fans a unique environment to cheer on their hometown ace.

loanDepot park will now feature Sandy’s Beach, a new supporter section that will transform Section 22 of the ballpark -- matching Sandy’s uniform number – with a very South Florida-centric beach theme.

Each time Sandy Alcantara takes the mound for a start at loanDepot park, Marlins fans will be able to purchase a special Sandy’s Beach ticket package, which includes an exclusive T-shirt as well as a game ticket in the Sandy’s Beach seating area.

Following Sunday’s announcement from Major League Baseball, Sandy is now the fifth pitcher in Marlins franchise history to earn multiple All-Star selections, joining Kevin Brown, Dontrelle Willis, Josh Johnson, and José Fernández.
