Rockies Recall RHP Antonio Senzatela

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Antonio Senzatela from Triple-A Albuquerque and have optioned outfielder Raimel Tapia to Triple-A.

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Antonio Senzatela from Triple-A Albuquerque and have optioned outfielder Raimel Tapia to Triple-A.
Senzatela, 22, will start for the Rockies against the San Diego Padres tonight … was optioned to Triple-A on July 8 and made one start with Albuquerque, pitching 3.1 innings and allowing one run on four hits with one walk and two strikeouts … has gone 9-3 with a 4.63 ERA (93.1 IP, 48 ER), 30 walks and 68 strikeouts in 18 appearances, 15 starts … among Major League rookies, is tied for first with nine wins along with Kyle Freeland, ranks third with 93.1 innings pitched and tied for fourth with 68 strikeouts … made 15 starts to begin the year before transitioning to the bullpen in late June … was named the National League Rookie of the Month for April after going 3-1 with a 2.81 ERA (32.0 IP, 10 ER) … was originally signed by the Rockies as an undrafted international free agent, July 8, 2011.
Tapia, 23, has batted .314 (32-for-102) with 20 runs, seven doubles, two triples, two home runs, nine RBI and three stolen bases in 40 games across three stints on the Rockies active roster … since his last recall from Albuquerque on June 6, has batted .356 (32-for-90) … made his Major League debut for the Rockies on Sept. 2, 2016 vs. Arizona and has hit .300 (42-for-140) with 24 runs, seven doubles, two triples, two home runs, 12 RBI and six stolen bases across 62 career games.
The Rockies have 39 players on their 40-man roster.
