Rockies recall six players

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitchers Carlos Estévez and Jeff Hoffman, left-handed pitcher Zac Rosscup, infielder Ryan McMahon, catcher Tom Murphy and outfielder Mike Tauchman from Triple-A Albuquerque.

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitchers Carlos Estévez and Jeff Hoffman, left-handed pitcher Zac Rosscup, infielder Ryan McMahon, catcher Tom Murphy and outfielder Mike Tauchman from Triple-A Albuquerque. 
·Estévez, 24, has combined to go 5-0 with a 6.53 ERA (20.2 IP, 15 ER), eight walks and 19 strikeouts in 21 games with Colorado across seven stints … with Albuquerque this season, went 1-4 with a 1.34 ERA (33.2 IP, 5 ER), 10 walks and 34 strikeouts … the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native made his Major League debut for Colorado on April 23, 2016 vs. Los Angeles-NL and has gone 8-7 with 11 saves and a 5.59 ERA (75.2 IP, 47 ER) with 36 walks and 78 strikeouts over 84 career appearances.
·Hoffman, 24, has gone 6-5 with a 5.30 ERA (91.2 IP, 54 ER), 33 walks and 73 strikeouts across four stints with the Rockies this season … has made 16 starts and one relief appearance … in 10 starts with Albuquerque this season, went 3-3 with a 4.71 ERA (49.2 IP, 26 ER), 19 walks and 47 strikeouts … made his Major League debut Aug. 20, 2016, and is 6-9 with a 5.20 ERA (123.0 IP, 71 ER), 50 walks and 95 strikeouts in 25 games (22 starts) with the Rockies in his career.
·Rosscup, 29, has made three appearances with the Rockies this season, allowing four runs in 3.1 innings pitched (10.80 ERA) with seven hits, no walks and five strikeouts … was acquired via trade from the Chicago Cubs on June 26 in exchange for right-handed pitcher Matt Carasiti … in 29 Minor League appearances this season, including one start, went 2-2 with a 2.45 ERA (40.1 IP, 11 ER), 12 walks and 54 strikeouts … in 65 career relief appearances with Chicago (2013-17) and Colorado (2017), has gone 3-1 with a 5.68 ERA (50.2 IP, 32 ER), 50 hits, 32 walks and 62 strikeouts.
·McMahon, 22, will make his second appearance on the Rockies active roster this season … had his contract selected from Albuquerque on Aug. 11 and made his Major League debut the following night at Miami … batted .222 (2-for-9) with one run, one double, one RBI, two walks and one strikeout in four games prior to being optioned on Aug. 18 … in 119 Minor League games with Double-A Hartford (49 games) and Albuquerque (70 games), batted .355 (167-for-470) with 74 runs, 39 doubles, four triples, 20 home runs, 88 RBI, 41 walks and 11 stolen bases.
·Murphy, 26, will make his second appearance on the Rockies active roster this season … batted .050 (1-for-20) with one double and one RBI in eight games with the Rockies June 15-28 … began the season on the 10-day disabled list prior to being reinstated on June 15 … was placed on the disabled list April 2 with a right forearm fracture he suffered on March 11 when his arm struck a bat on a throw to second base … in 38 games with Albuquerque, batted .255 (36-for-141) with 22 runs, 10 doubles, one triple, four home runs, 19 RBI and nine walks … in parts of three seasons with Colorado (2015-17), has batted .222 (22-for-99) with four doubles, eight home runs, 23 RBI and 10 walks.
·Tauchman, 26, has gone 2-for-11 with one RBI in 10 games across two stints with the Rockies this year … was last recalled on Aug. 18 and optioned on Aug. 22 … had his contract selected for the first time June 27 and made his Major League debut that night at San Francisco prior to being optioned on July 7… with Albuquerque this season, batted .331 (139-for-420) with 82 runs, 30 doubles, eight triples, 16 home runs, 80 RBI, 40 walks and 16 stolen bases.
The Rockies have a full 40-man roster.
