Rockies Reinstate Alexi Amarista from Paternity List; Option Jordan Patterson

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated infielder-outfielder Alexi Amarista from the paternity list and have optioned infielder-outfielder Jordan Patterson to Triple-A Albuquerque.

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated infielder-outfielder Alexi Amarista from the paternity list and have optioned infielder-outfielder Jordan Patterson to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Amarista, 28, was placed on the paternity list on Tuesday and welcomed his third daughter, Amy Allanah, that day … is batting .338 (23-for-68) with six doubles, two home runs, 14 RBI and one walk in 30 games played this season … has made eight starts at shortstop, two starts at second base, one start in left field and one start in center field … has batted .379 (11-for-29) over his last 10 games and hit safely in nine of his last 10 starts … in 636 career games with Los Angeles-AL (2011-12), San Diego (2012-16) and Colorado (2017), has batted .235 (387-for-1,650) with 63 doubles, 16 triples, 20 home runs, 165 RBI, 103 walks and 38 stolen bases.
Patterson, 25, was recalled from Albuquerque yesterday, his first appearance on the Major League roster this season … made his Major League debut on Sept. 8, 2016 and batted .444 (8-for-18) with one run, one double, two RBI and one walk in 10 games with the Rockies … in 53 games with Albuquerque this season, is batting .216 (41-for-190) with 12 doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 34 RBI … has appeared in 42 games at first base and seven games in right field with Albuquerque … was originally drafted by the Rockies in the fourth round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of South Alabama.
The Rockies have 39 players on their 40-man roster.
