Rockies reinstate Dahl, McMahon from injured list
Daza, Fuentes optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque
DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated outfielder David Dahl (left-side core injury) and infielder Ryan McMahon (left elbow sprain) from the 10-day injured list. Outfielder Yonathan Daza and infielder Josh Fuentes have been optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Dahl, 25, was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left-side core injury on April 9 (retroactive to April 8) … has batted .343 (12-for-35) with four runs, two doubles, one triple, two home runs, six RBI and three walks in 10 games for the Rockies this season … hit home runs in each of his first two games at Coors Field, and has now hit home runs in eight of his last 10 games at Coors Field dating back to Sept. 24, 2018 vs. Philadelphia … the Birmingham, Ala., native is a career .296 (150-for-506) hitter with 77 runs, 25 doubles, eight triples, 25 home runs, 78 RBI, 37 walks and 10 stolen bases across parts of three seasons with Colorado (2016, 2018-19) … the Rockies’ first-round selection from the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, Dahl has made two prior stints on the injured list in his Major League career, including a stint on the 60-day in 2017 with a stress reaction in his ribcage that caused him to miss the entire season. McMahon, 24, was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left elbow sprain on April 6 … has gone 5-for-25 (.200) with three runs scored, two doubles, one RBI and four walks over his first seven games this season … across parts of three seasons since his Major League debut on Aug. 12, 2017 at Miami, the Yorba Linda, Calif., native has batted .222 (50-for-225) with 22 runs, 12 doubles, one triple, five home runs, 21 RBI, 27 walks and one stolen base in 115 games for the Rockies … won the Abby Greer Award for the Rockies’ Spring Training MVP this year after batting .424 (25-for-59) with 11 runs, nine doubles, one triple, three home runs, 14 RBI and five walks in 24 Spring games. Daza, 25, made his Major League debut on April 9 vs. Atlanta, starting in right field and batting leadoff … has gone 0-for-11 with one walk and four strikeouts across three games in his first two Major League stints … was optioned to Triple-A on April 15 before being recalled the following day … has played parts of nine Minor League seasons, and is a career .310 (698-for-2255) hitter with 337 runs, 141 doubles, 24 triples, 19 home runs, 318 RBI, 110 walks, 328 strikeouts and 84 stolen bases … the native of Maracay, Venezuela, was originally signed by Colorado as a non-drafted international free agent on Oct. 20, 2010. Fuentes, 26, went 2-for-18 (.111) with two runs and eight strikeouts over his first Major League stint (nine games, four starts) … recorded his first hit in his first at-bat on April 6 vs. Los Angeles-NL, a pinch-hit single off Yimi Garcia … became the seventh Rockies player to record a hit when making his debut as a pinch hitter … in his Minor League career, has batted .300 (552-for-1843) with 269 runs, 129 doubles, 24 triples, 50 home runs, 292 RBI, 108 walks and 27 stolen bases … the Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., native was originally signed by the Rockies as a non-drafted free agent on June 11, 2014.
