Colorado Rockies reinstate left-handed pitcher Chris Rusin from 10-day injured list, recall right-handed pitcher Jesus Tinoco from Triple-A Albuquerque

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated left-handed pitcher Chris Rusin from the 10-day injured list (mid-back strain) and have recalled right-handed pitcher Jesus Tinoco from Triple-A Albuquerque. Additionally, the Rockies have optioned outfielder Yonathan Daza and left-handed pitcher Kyle Freeland to Triple-A.

  • Rusin, 32, will be on the active roster for the first time this season … was placed on the 10-day injured list on March 27 (retroactive to March 25) with a mid-back strain … has made eight rehab appearances (including one start) across Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque, going 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA (13.1 IP, 8 ER), five walks and 11 strikeouts … across parts of four seasons with the Rockies, is 16-19 with two saves, a 4.43 ERA (355.2 IP, 175 ER), 109 walks and 273 strikeouts in 162 games with 29 starts … drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the fourth round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, the Detroit, Mich., native was selected off waivers from the Cubs on Sept. 27, 2014 … has gone 20-28 with two saves, a 4.55 ERA (464.1 IP, 235 ER), 149 walks and 338 strikeouts across parts of seven seasons with Chicago-NL (2012-14) and Colorado (2015-18).
