DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have selected the contracts of infielder Adael Amador, outfielder Yanquiel Fernández, and right-handed pitchers Angel Chivilli and Juan Mejia.

Amador, 20, was signed by the Rockies as a non-drafted international free agent on July 2, 2019 … in 69 total games in 2023 between the Arizona Complex League, High-A Spokane and Double-A Hartford, slashed .287/.380/.495 with 12 home runs, 46 RBI and 15 stolen bases … over his three professional seasons from 2021-23, the Santiago, D.R., native has slashed .292/.401/.461 with 31 home runs, 127 RBI, 153 walks, 133 strikeouts and 51 stolen bases in 231 total games … he currently ranks as the Rockies top prospect and the 21st overall prospect according to MLB.com.

Fernández, 20, was signed by the Rockies as a non-drafted international free agent on July 12, 2019 … in 117 total games in 2023 between Single-A Fresno, Spokane and Hartford, the Havana, Cuba native slashed .265/.313/.486 with 25 home runs and 92 RBI while also connecting on 25 doubles … over his three professional seasons from 2021-23, he has slashed .284/.339/.502 with 52 home runs and 235 RBI in 283 total games … he currently ranks as the Rockies second-best prospect and 49th overall according to MLB.com.

Chivilli, 21, was signed by the Rockies as a non-drafted international free agent on July 30, 2018 … in 53 games, all in relief, between Spokane and Hartford in 2023, went 4-9 with 17 saves and a 5.61 ERA (61.0 IP, 38 ER), 21 walks and 68 strikeouts … the La Victoria, D.R. native has appeared in 108 Minor League games (20 starts) from 2019-23, going 7-19 with 27 saves, a 4.81 ERA (185.1 IP, 83 ER), 49 walks and 209 strikeouts.

Mejia, 23, was signed by the Rockies on May 5, 2017 as a non-drafted international free agent out of Santo Domingo, D.R. … split the 2023 campaign between Spokane and Hartford, going 3-5 with a 5.06 ERA (58.2 IP, 33 ER), recording two saves and 86 strikeouts over 48 appearances, all in relief … was named an Arizona Fall League Fall Star in 2023 after logging three saves with a 2.16 ERA (8.1 IP, 2 ER) and 16 strikeouts in eight relief appearances … over his six-year professional career from 2017-23 has gone 15-19 with a 4.54 ERA (273.1 IP, 138 ER) with 20 saves and 328 strikeouts (10.8 SO/9) in 188 games (15 starts).
