The Kansas City Royals and FOX Sports Kansas City announced today that an all-time high 10 exhibition games will be televised this season on the defending World Champions' exclusive television partner.
The Royals and FOX Sports Kansas City are entering the ninth season of an agreement in which FOX Sports Kansas City is the exclusive television home of Royals baseball. FOX Sports Kansas City will broadcast 10 Spring Training games, up from the previous high of four which were televised last season. Coverage of Royals baseball in 2016 kicks off with a telecast from Scottsdale, Ariz., on Saturday, March 12, when the Royals face the Arizona Diamondbacks at 2 p.m. (CDT). The Tuesday, March 15 contest in Goodyear, Ariz., against the Cincinnati Reds will also be televised, featuring a 3 p.m. (CDT) first pitch. FOX Sports Kansas City will air both exhibition games against the Texas Rangers in San Antonio, Texas, scheduled for Friday, March 18 (7 p.m. CT) and Saturday, March 19 (2 p.m. CT). Additional road exhibition games against the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday, March 23 (3 p.m. CT) and the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday, March 24 (3 p.m.) will also be carried.
FOX Sports Kansas City will also broadcast three games from the Royals' home complex in Surprise, Ariz.: on Tuesday, March 22 vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers (8 p.m. CT), Saturday, March 26 vs. the Oakland A's (3 p.m. CT) and Tuesday, March 29 vs. the San Francisco Giants (8 p.m. CT). FSKC's final exhibition broadcast will be on Friday, April 1, when the Royals face Arizona at Chase Field at 8:30 p.m. CT, in their penultimate contest of the Spring.

Five of the exhibition games will feature a rotation of FOX Sports Kansas City announcers, Ryan Lefebvre, Steve Physioc, Rex Hudler, Joel Goldberg and Jeff Montgomery. Four other telecasts will include a shared crew with one announcer from FSKC and one from the opposing team's FOX Sports regional network. The March 24 game against Milwaukee in Maryvale, Ariz., will feature the Brewers' announcers.
The 2016 regular season schedule with FOX Sports Kansas City telecasts will be announced at a later date.
Viewership for Royals telecasts on FOX Sports Kansas City reached an all-time high in 2015, according to Nielsen Media Research, and ratings have increased each of the last five seasons. Royals telecasts averaged a 12.3 household rating during the 2015 MLB season (April 6-October 4), tops in the Major Leagues and best for any MLB team on a regional sports network since 2002.
