KCUYA Hosts Softball Breakthrough Series

KANSAS CITY, MO (May 23, 2019) – Over the weekend, the Kansas City Royals will host the New York Yankees (May 24-26). During the MLB Softball Breakthrough Series at the Urban Youth Academy (May 24-27), Royals associates will participate in a panel discussing the paths to their careers while playing collegiate sports (May 26). See below for more details.

Friday, May 24 – New York Yankees vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.

  • Green Team – During select games throughout the season, local organizations and volunteers who sign up to be a part of the Royals Green Team, sponsored by Republic Services, will help collect aluminum and recyclable plastics at the stadium gates and throughout from the stands. Saturday, May 25 – New York Yankees vs. Royals, 1:15 p.m.

  • Stars of the Classroom – Throughout the season, the Royals will join the Missouri Lottery to honor outstanding educators through the Missouri Lottery Stars of the Classroom recognition program. Prior to the game, Missouri Lottery and the Royals will celebrate the achievements of Molly Blocker, an English teacher at Moreland Ridge Middle School in Blue Springs, Mo.
  • Kennedy to host Group from City Union Mission Men’s Center – For the third straight season, on each Saturday home game, pitcher Ian Kennedy and his wife, Allison, host a group in a fully-catered Dugout Suite. This day, guests from City Union Mission Men’s Center will meet Kennedy prior to the game, and each guest will receive a special gift from the family.

Sunday, May 26 – New York Yankees vs. Royals, 1:15 p.m.

  • Breakthrough Series Panel – Female front office associates from Kauffman Stadium will participate in a Career Chat for participants of the Major League Baseball “Softball Breakthrough Series,” a special development camp atmosphere serving as a showcase for collegiate recruiters, held this weekend at the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy.
