San Diego Padres Release 2020 60-Game Schedule

July 6th, 2020

The San Diego Padres released their schedule for the 2020 60-game regular season today featuring 40 games against National League West rivals and 20 Interleague games against American League West opponents as part of this year's regional scheduling. The Padres will play three series for a total of 10 games against each of their four divisional rivals and eight total series against AL West clubs. The team will open the season at home with a four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks beginning on Opening Day, Friday, July 24 at 6:10 p.m. After the four-game opening homestand, the Padres will embark on their first road trip of 2020 when they visit the San Francisco Giants (July 28-30) and Colorado Rockies (July 31-August 2).

As part of Interleague play in 2020, the Texas Rangers (August 19-20), Houston Astros (August 21-23), Seattle Mariners (August 25-27) and Los Angeles Angels (September 22-23) will all make the trip to America's Finest City. This will mark just the second appearance at Petco Park for the Astros since joining the American League and the third visit to Petco Park for the Angels. For Interleague road contests, the Padres will visit Texas (August 17-18), Los Angeles (September 1-2), Oakland (September 4-6) and Seattle (September 18-20). The club's visit to Texas' Globe Life Field will be its first to the brand-new ballpark.

Three of the four home weekends for the Padres in 2020 will be against National League West opponents, including two weekend series against the Diamondbacks and one against the Giants, with the Astros rounding out the home weekend schedule. The Padres will also host the Rockies at Petco Park on Labor Day (September 7). The club concludes their home schedule with a two-game homestand against the Angels (September 21-23) before wrapping up their 2020 regular season schedule with a three-game road trip against the Giants (September 25-27).
