The Giants lost a special member of our family this morning when Mirian Ortiz Cepeda -- wife of Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda -- died peacefully in Fairfield, California due to complications from pneumonia. She was 62. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx, NY, Mirian was known for her vivacious spirit who brought joy to her family and to all of us who had the honor to know her. She will be deeply missed by the entire Giants family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Orlando and her son Hector and her stepsons Orlando, Jr., Carl (Charmaine), Malcolm (Elizabeth) and Ali (Camille) and their eight grandchildren. The Giants will observe a moment of silence in memory of Mirian before tonight's game.
