Globe Life, Fox Sports Southwest and Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation continue grant program partnership in 2019

March 11th, 2019

Globe Life, FOX Sports Southwest, and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will once again partner to provide grants to baseball and softball programs throughout the five-state region.

This season, the Rangers Foundation and Globe Life, with support from FOX Sports Southwest, will once again accept proposals for grants from nonprofit organizations that specifically support youth baseball or softball in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Arkansas.

While the Rangers Foundation supports a number of other areas, this grant program and all applications should be limited to support of youth baseball and softball. Grants can be used for equipment, construction projects, field renovations, or other projects that help further the baseball and softball initiatives in that community. Grants are not given for travel expenses.

Organizations are asked to complete a proposal describing how funding from the grant will allow them to give youth in their area the opportunity to play either baseball or softball. The winners are selected based on need and the ability of the proposed program to improve baseball programs in their local areas.

In 2018, Globe Life and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation awarded grants to 11 non-profit organizations in Texas and Louisiana. More than $550,000 has been distributed to more than 69 different organizations since the Grant Program started in 2012, thanks to the support of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, Globe Life, and FOX Sports Southwest. Those funds have impacted more than 60,000 kids in more than 50 different communities.

FOX Sports Southwest helps to promote the grant program throughout the Rangers entire television territory.

In February 2014, the Texas Rangers and Globe Life announced a 10-year agreement establishing Globe Life Park in Arlington as the new name for Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. As part of the agreement with the Rangers, Globe Life made a substantial commitment to support youth baseball and softball programs in the Rangers’ five-state territory by joining with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation in the grant partnership program.

On August 24, 2017, the Rangers and Globe Life announced an extension of their naming rights partnership establishing Globe Life Field as the name for the team’s new ballpark that will open in Arlington for the 2020 season. The extension of the Rangers-Globe Life partnership goes through 2048.
