DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers today announced that the club will not tender a contract for the 2018 season to righthanded pitcher Bruce Rondón.
Rondón, 26, appeared in 59 games between Detroit and Triple A Toledo last season and had a 3-4 record with two saves, a 5.16 ERA (52.1IP/30ER) and 65 strikeouts. In four seasons with the Tigers, Rondón pitched in 123 games and had an 8-7 record with seven saves, a 5.00 ERA (111.2IP/62ER) and 133 strikeouts.
Rondón is now a free agent and is eligible to sign with any of the 30 Major League clubs.
The Tigers 40-man roster is now at 38.
