MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins today announced further details regarding Joe Mauer’s number retirement, a weekend-long celebration June 14-16 that will bring generations of Twins greats together at Target Field. More than 30 Twins alumni, including 15 Twins Hall-of-Famers, five inductees of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and all seven of the club’s previously-retired numbers (player himself or a family representative) are scheduled to be on-hand for pre-game ceremonies and other engagement opportunities throughout a packed weekend at Target Field, which also includes Prince Night (Friday) and Kids Day presented by Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare (Sunday).
Tickets for all three games of the Twins-Kansas City Royals series that weekend (June 14-16), as well as season and group tickets for the remainder of the 2019 season at Target Field, are available via the MLB Ballpark App, at twinsbaseball.com, by calling 612-33-TWINS (612-338-9467) or 800-33-TWINS (800-338-9467), or in-person at the Target Field Ticket Office.

Friday, June 14 – Twins vs. Kansas City Royals (7:10 p.m.)
- Prince Night: The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a purple Prince Twins Jersey (Adult M/XL), while those who purchase a separate Prince Theme Night ticket package will receive a co-branded Prince/Twins hat.
- FREE Fan Photo Opportunity (5:20 to 6:00 p.m., adjacent to the Supercuts Super Seats): Fans can take their picture with 2018 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Jim Thome, 2019 Twins Hall of Fame inductee Joe Nathan, and former infielders J.J. Hardy and Nick Punto.
- On-Field Ceremonies (Pregame): Honoring the extensive and ongoing community work of Joe and Maddie Mauer, with representatives from Crescent Cove, Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare and Highland Friendship Club.
- Fireworks Friday, Presented by Securian Financial (Postgame): The first in a summer-long series of Friday night fireworks, presented by Securian Financial.
Saturday, June 15 – Twins vs. Kansas City Royals (6:10 p.m.); Joe Mauer Day, Presented by Mauer Chevrolet and Buick/GMC with Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare.
- No. 7 Baseball Cap: The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative No. 7 Baseball Cap, presented by Mauer Chevrolet and Buick/GMC.
- FREE Fan Photo Opportunity (4:20 to 5:00 p.m., adjacent to the Supercuts Super Seats): Fans can take their picture with a quartet of Twins Hall-of-Famers: Michael Cuddyer, Eddie Guardado, Torii Hunter and Brad Radke.
- Joe Mauer Number Retirement Ceremony (Pregame): Honoring the singular career of an all-time franchise great, the Twins will officially retire Joe Mauer’s uniform number 7 – the jersey he proudly wore throughout his stellar 15-year Major League career, all spent in Minnesota. Mauer will be joined on the field by his family and friends, along with past coaches and teammates, fellow Twins retired number honorees (or their family representatives) and additional club dignitaries.
- Media Availability: Joe Mauer will be available for interviews immediately following the ceremony in the Sid Hartman Press Conference Room.
Sunday, June 16 – Twins vs. Kansas City Royals (1:10 p.m.); Father’s Day and Kids Day, Presented by Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare
- Kids Day: Every Sunday, kids’ meals are half price – just $4 – thanks to Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare! Before the game, kids 12 and younger can get autographs from a Twins player. Postgame, kids can run the bases courtesy of Twin Cities Orthopedics.
- First Run Kid: Joe Mauer, who along with wife Maddie recently donated funds to renovate a play room at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare hospital, and annually host a fundraiser for the organization, will be at home plate to greet that day’s special “First Run Kid” prior to the game.
