Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed catcher Mitch Garver on the 10-day Injured List with a high left ankle sprain, an injury he suffered in the eighth inning of last night’s game against the Angels. Garver played in 25 games this season, hitting .329 (26-for-79) with four doubles, nine home runs, 19 RBI and a 1.164 OPS.

To replace Garver on the 25-man roster, the Twins have returned infielder Miguel Sanó from rehab assignment and have reinstated him from the 10-day Injured List. Sanó, who has missed the first 41 games of the season with a right heel laceration, recently played in 10 games on rehab assignment between Single-A Ft. Myers, Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Rochester, hitting .316 (12-for-38) with four doubles, two home runs, nine RBI and three walks.
