Twins recall Tyler Duffey from Triple-A Rochester

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Tyler Duffey from Triple-A Rochester. Duffey, who was recently recalled as the 26th man for the doubleheader with Detroit on Saturday, has appeared in five games for the Twins this season, posting a 1.42 ERA (6.1 IP, 1 ER) with two walks and 10 strikeouts. In seven games for the Red Wings, he has allowed two runs on eight hits over 13.2 innings pitched (1.32 ERA) with 22 strikeouts and five walks.

To make room for Duffey on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned outfielder Jake Cave to Triple-A Rochester. Cave played in 18 games for the Twins, hitting .220 (9-for-41) with two doubles and three RBI.
