DETROIT, MI – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned right-handed pitcher Joe Ryan from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 15-day Injured List.
Ryan, who was placed on the Injured List on August 7 with a left glute strain, made one start on rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on September 1 at Omaha, allowing one run on one hit (a solo homer) in 3.0 innings pitched, with no walks, four strikeouts and 42 pitches thrown. The 2026 American League All-Star made 23 starts for the Twins prior to his IL stint, going 6-8 with a 3.65 ERA (125.2 IP, 51 ER), 27 walks, 138 strikeouts and a .239 opponent batting average. Ryan is scheduled to start today against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.
To make room for Ryan on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-handed pitcher Garrett Acton to St. Paul. Acton made three appearances on his most recent stint with the Twins, allowing five runs on six hits in 4.1 innings pitched, with three walks and five strikeouts.
