Twins return Mauer from rehab assignment and reinstate from disabled list

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned first baseman Joe Mauer from rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day disabled list.

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned first baseman Joe Mauer from rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day disabled list. Mauer, who missed the Twins last 25 games suffering from a cervical strain/concussion-like symptoms, played in three games on rehab assignment this week with Triple-A Rochester.
The Twins have also recalled infielder Taylor Motter from Rochester. Motter, who was claimed off waivers from Seattle on May 28, has played in 13 games for the Red Wings, going 7-for-42, with three doubles and one home run. 
Mauer and Motter will take the 25-man roster spots of Miguel Sanó and Jake Cave who were both optioned yesterday afternoon.
