Washington Nationals announce 2024 regular season schedule

The Washington Nationals, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, announced their 2024 schedule on Thursday. The 2024 season will commence with an Opening Day matchup on the road against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday, March 28. Opening Day 2024 will mark the second time the Nationals open the season in Cincinnati and the first time since Opening Day 2018.

The Nationals will open their 2024 home slate on Monday, April 1, against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Washington’s initial homestand will feature three games against the Pirates before a three-game weekend series against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Nationals will host 13 homestands and 13 weekend series during the 2024 season.

Washington will take three separate 10-day road trips prior to the All-Star break, starting with a trip against the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers, April 8-17. From May 10-19, the Nationals will travel to Boston and on to Chicago to face the White Sox, and then on to their first series of the season at Philadelphia. Washington’s final 10-day trip will take the club to Colorado, San Diego and Tampa Bay, June 21-30.

The Nationals will host the New York Mets for a four-game series July 1-4 that will feature the annual Fourth of July game at Nationals Park. Following that series, the St. Louis Cardinals will visit Nationals Park for a four-game wraparound series, July 5-8. Washington will close out the first half with a six-game road trip to New York (NL) and Milwaukee, July 9-14 before the All-Star break. The Nationals will open the second half with a six-game homestand against the Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres from July 19-25.

The annual Beltway Series vs. the Baltimore Orioles will renew May 7-8 at Nationals Park, and Washington will travel to Baltimore, Aug. 13-14.

The Nationals open the month of August with their longest homestand of the year, Aug. 2-11. That homestand will feature visits from the Milwaukee Brewers, San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Angels. The Nationals finish August with a six-game homestand that will feature visits from the New York Yankees, Aug. 26-28 and a weekend series against the Chicago Cubs, Aug. 30-Sept. 1.

Washington’s final road trip of the season, Sept. 16-22, will take the club to New York (NL) and Chicago (NL) before the Nationals end the 2024 season at Nationals Park against the Kansas City Royals and Philadelphia Phillies, Sept. 24-29.
