Washington Nationals homestand highlights for April 30-May 6

The Nationals will return home for their second homestand of 2018, which will feature STAR WARS™ Day on May 5, a Max Scherzer Cy Young Bobblehead giveaway on May 4, U.S. Navy Day on May 1, Teacher Appreciation Day on April 28, and the return of the K Street Section on April 27.

K Street Section #1: The Nationals superfan section at Nationals Park, the K Street Section, returns for the 2018 season. For one Friday home game of each month, fans can purchase a special ticket package that includes a field level ticket in Section 108 or 109, an exclusive T-shirt, and a 'K-card' to help cheer on the Nationals' pitchers. Councilmember Recognition: During the 2018 season the Nationals will once again recognize communities and leaders who make up the District of Columbia. On Friday, the Nationals welcomeCouncilmember Kenyan McDuffie who represents Ward 5 and serves as Chair Pro Tempore for the Council. He will be joined on the field and in the stands by constituents from across Ward 5.

Kids Opening Day: The Nationals invite the team's youngest fans to help kick off the 2018 season. A variety of kid-friendly activities will be available before the start of the game, including face painters, caricature artists, and balloon twisters by the Kids Play Area from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In addition, all kids ages 4 through 12 will have the opportunity to run the bases after Sunday regular season home day games, weather permitting. Screech's Birthday: Happy 13th birthday, Screech! Mascots from across the D.C. area will be at Nationals Park to help Screech celebrate his big day. Screech and his friends will perform various birthday-themed skits and participate in other fun events throughout the day.
Youth Baseball & Softball Day presented by Inova Children's Hospital: The Nationals welcome all area teams and leagues to the 14th annual Youth Baseball & Softball Day presented by Inova Children's Hospital. Visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center: The Washington Nationals will make their annual visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda. Players, coaches, and their significant others will spend time with veterans working on their physical therapy in the Military Advanced Training Center. Afterwards, the team will join active duty service members at the USO Warrior and Family Center at Bethesda for lunch.
Potomac Nationals Players Appearance: Four P-Nats players and GM Bryan Holland will be in attendance for Monday's game. The players will participate in an autograph signing from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m. at the Main Team Store.

The first 10,000 fans will receive a pair of STAR WARS™ Stance Socks. STAR WARS™ characters will be roaming the concourse to take pictures with fans, and DJ Alkimist will be playing STAR WARS™-themed music in Center Field Plaza beginning at 2:00 p.m. Special menu items for the game include Obi-Wan Kabobies at Street Skewers (Section 106) and Jar Jar Links at grill stands throughout the ballpark. Fans are all invited to come dressed as their favorite character, however any props resembling weapons will not be allowed into the ballpark. Nationals/Inova Sports Medicine Youth Baseball Clinic: In conjunction with Inova Health System, the Nationals host a series of youth clinics as part of the team's efforts to increase participation and interest in baseball and softball. Children ages 8 through 14 participate in the free clinics, which include on-field instruction by Nationals coaching staff, a meet-and-greet with a player, and four tickets to a Nationals game. Registration is not open to the public.

The race is three miles in distance and includes 22 obstacles in and around Nationals Park, finishing on the warning track inside the ballpark. GETTING TO THE BALLPARK
Parking options for Nationals fans start at $20 and are available online at nationals.com/Parking. Fans are encouraged to purchase parking in advance to ensure a space in their desired zone.
Fans can also get a ride to and from the ballpark at the tap of a button using Uber, the official ride-share partner of the Washington Nationals. When exiting the ballpark, fans are encouraged to head to one of Uber's suggested pickup locations shown at nationals.mlb.com/promo/map:

Fans using Metro to travel to or from Nationals Park are encouraged to review the Metro schedule at wmata.com/schedules.
Fans should also consider alternate forms of travel to and from the ballpark, including the D.C. Circulator from Union Station, biking to the ballpark, or the baseball boat from Alexandria. BALLPARK SAFETY
Nationals Park is a completely non-smoking and tobacco-free facility per District of Columbia law. There is no exception for electronic cigarettes or any other type of smoking device, or for smokeless tobacco or any other type of tobacco product.
MLB and the Nationals require that all people entering Nationals Park walk through a metal detector or be screened with handheld metal detectors to search for prohibited items. This includes a thorough inspection of all jackets, coats, packages, bags, backpacks, purses, and any other containers brought to any of the Nationals Park entry gates.
