White Sox announce upcoming homestand events

The Chicago White Sox announced promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels.

The Chicago White Sox announced promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels. 
 
The White Sox will celebrate Hawk Day on Sunday, September 2. The day will honor Ken "Hawk" Harrelson's final season in the broadcast booth. Pregame ceremony will include special guests to celebrate Hawk's career in baseball. The first 10,000 fans who enter the ballpark will receive a Hawk Nesting Doll. Fans who check in using the MLB Ballpark App will receive a "Hawk Day" Magnet. Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) also will start the Sox Split 50/50 raffle, presented by Wintrust, with a guaranteed jackpot of $20,000. Theme Nights
The White Sox will honor Chicago's bravest and finest with Police and Fire Night, presented by UL, on Thursday, August 30. Members of both the Chicago Police and Fire Departments will be honored in a pregame ceremony. Specially priced tickets for police officers, firefighters, their families and friends are available at whitesox.com/pdfd.
 
The White Sox will celebrate the first ballpark-wide Pride Night on Friday, August 31. Fans who purchase tickets at whitesox.com/pride will receive a pair of Sox Rainbow Sunglasses and pregame parade passes. A portion of proceeds from tickets sold through this link will benefit You Can Play Project, an organization that works to ensure safety and inclusion for all who participate in sports. Fans who check in using the MLB Ballpark App will receive a rainbow Sox flag. A party shop also will be available near Section 159. The evening will conclude with a postgame fireworks show.
 
The White Sox and Budweiser invite fans ages 21 and over to visit the Budweiser Macro Bar located in the southwest corner of Lot B on Saturday, September 1. A $1 donation for each Budweiser can sold at the macro bar and in the ballpark that night will be given to Folds of Honor. The Budweiser Clydesdales will be available for photos along Shields Avenue prior to participating in a pregame ceremony.
 
The White Sox will celebrate Margaritaville Night on Wednesday, September 5. The first 1,250 fans to purchase tickets at whitesox.com/margaritaville will receive a White Sox Margaritaville hat.
 
The White Sox will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night and Fireworks, presented by Modelo, on Friday, September 7. Pregame entertainment includes a Gate 4 performance by los Perros Cubanos, on-field dance by Tierra Colombiana and a National Anthem performance by el Mariachi Monumental de México.
Fans are invited to mark Halfway to St. Patrick's Day, presented by Goose Island Beer Co., on Saturday, September 8. Tickets and additional information are available at whitesox.com/spd.
 
The White Sox will honor pediatric cancer awareness month on Sunday, September 9. The first 500 fans to purchase tickets at whitesox.com/lym will receive a co-branded White Sox and Love Your Melon beanie hat. A portion of proceeds from tickets sold through this link will support Love Your Melon's program to give a hat to every child battling cancer in America.
 
Special Appearances 
The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) will honor infielder Yolmer Sánchez as the organization's Heart & Hustle Award winner in a pregame ceremony on Thursday, August 30.
 
The White Sox Wives will welcome 30 young girls from Mercy Home in Beverly to the ballpark on Thursday, August 30. The girls will enjoy the game from a suite, where they'll also receive manicures.
 
American hip hop artist and South Side native Taylor Bennett will throw a ceremonial pitch in honor of Pride Night on Friday, August 31.
 
Hall-of-fame triathlete Chris Mosier will throw a ceremonial pitch in honor of Pride Night on Friday, August 31. The four-time member of Team USA is the first transgender athlete to make a men's U.S. National team, featured in ESPN's "Body Issue" and sponsored by Nike.
 
R&B singer/songwriter and Chicago native RJ Griffith will perform the National Anthem on Tuesday, September 4.
 
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of his major-league debut, White Sox ambassador Carlos May will throw out a ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday, September 5.
 
The Chicago White Sox will honor first baseman José Abreu as the organization's Roberto Clemente Award Nominee in a pregame ceremony on Wednesday, September 5. The Roberto Clemente Award recognizes the player who best represents the game of baseball through sportsmanship, community involvement and positive contributions, both on and off the field.
 
The White Sox Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) team will be recognized in a pregame ceremony on Wednesday, September 5 as the 2018 RBI World Series champions of the Senior Baseball Division. This is the second time a White Sox RBI team has won the RBI World Series in the tournament's 26-year history.
 
Former Chicago Bears center Roberto Garza will throw out a ceremonial first pitch on behalf of Modelo on Hispanic Heritage Night (September 7).
 
Cuban-American José Riesco Sr. will throw out a ceremonial first pitch on September 7 in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Night. Earlier this summer, he was surprised by his son Juan Riesco, a local artist and Nini's Deli owner, with a Wilson A2000 baseball glove that he had wanted since his family emigrated from Cuba in the 1960s.
 
Giveaways
The first 10,000 fans to enter the ballpark on Thursday, August 30, will receive a Yolmer Sánchez "Keep it Fun" T-Shirt, presented by UL as part of Free T-Shirt Thursdays. Tickets are available at whitesox.com/Thursdays.
 
The first 10,000 fans (ages 21 and over) to enter the ballpark on Saturday, September 1, will receive a White Sox Adult Onesie, presented by Budweiser.
 
The first 10,000 fans to enter the ballpark on Sunday, September 2, will receive a Ken "Hawk" Harrelson Nesting Doll.
 
In conjunction with Halfway to St. Patrick's Day, the first 10,000 fans (ages 21 and over) to enter the ballpark will receive a White Sox Snapback Hat, presented by Goose Island Beer Co., on Saturday, September 8.
 
The first 15,000 fans to enter the ballpark on Sunday, September 9, will receive a White Sox Water Bottle, presented by the Village of Bedford Park.
 
Ongoing Promotions
Fans are invited to explore the connection between Hispanic culture and baseball at the Negro Leagues Béisbol Exhibit. The exhibit was dedicated in memory of late White Sox legend Minnie Miñoso and is on display at the Chicago Sports Depot through September 26.
 
Coca-Cola Family Sunday will take place on Sunday, September 2, and Sunday, September 9. Both games will include kid-friendly activities such as children's running the bases postgame (weather permitting), face painters, balloon artists and a caricature artist. Tickets are available for as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level with $10 parking. Tickets and additional information are available at whitesox.com/Sundays.
 
Fans are invited to enjoy the baseball tradition of having a hot dog while cheering on the White Sox during $1 Hot Dog Wednesday, presented by Securian Financial, on September 5. The popular large and juicy Vienna Beef premium hot dogs will be available for $1 at Guaranteed Rate Field's concession stands on the 100 and 500-level concourses and in-seat vending as well as club level concessions. There will be a limit of four per person per concession visit, while supplies last. 
 
Children's Autograph Sessions will take place on Sunday, September 9, inviting kids to receive autographs from current White Sox players. The first 100 kids (ages 13 and under) to enter the ballpark through the Chicago Sports Depot entrance (located near parking Lot B and Gate 5) at 11:15 a.m. will be given a wristband and be directed to a special area for the autograph session.
