Between games of today's split doubleheader at Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Dylan Covey from Class AAA Charlotte and optioned right-hander Gregory Infante to Charlotte.
Covey, 26, is scheduled to start the second game of today's doubleheader. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Covey is 2-1 with a 2.95 ERA (7 ER/21.1 IP) and 16 strikeouts over four starts with Charlotte this season, limiting opponents to a .208 (15-72) average.
