Texas Rangers Youth Academy Baseball advances to MLB Nike RBI Regional Championship Game
DALLAS— The Texas Rangers Youth Academy junior baseball team on Saturday clinched a spot in the 2023 MLB Nike RBI Southwest Regional Championship Game after finishing pool play 4-0.
The Rangers 15U junior baseball team will compete against NOLA Urban Youth Academy Nike RBI Sunday, July 23, on Johnny Oates Field at the Rangers’ West Dallas Youth Academy. The first pitch is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. CT.
The winner of Sunday’s championship game will represent the Southwest Region in the MLB Nike RBI World Series in Vero Beach, Fla., next month, where they’ll compete against seven other regional winners for the coveted championship trophy.
The Rangers Youth Academy will also host Sunday’s softball and senior baseball regional championship games.
Houston Astros Nike RBI and NOLA Nike RBI will compete in the softball championship at 11 a.m., and Astros Nike RBI has clinched a spot in the senior baseball championship game at 8 a.m. with their opponent to be determined tonight.
Pending the results from Saturday’s 6 p.m. pool play game between the Rangers Nike RBI senior baseball team and Colorado Rockies Nike RBI, the 2-1 Rangers are in contention for a spot in Sunday’s championship game.
The Rangers Nike RBI softball team has been eliminated from championship contention after finishing pool play 2-2. In their two wins Saturday over Austin Nike RBI and Rockies Nike RBI, they outscored their opponents, 34-5.
Sunday’s three championship games are open to the public at no cost.
