White Sox Charities Day

Charities Day returned on Tuesday, June 20. In partnership with NBC Sports Chicago, the telethon-style fundraising event invited fans to give back to Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) and help support those most in need throughout the city we call home.

While supplies last, fans can pledge an online donation of any amount to receive special White Sox items.

About White Sox Charities

As the White Sox 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, CWSC works tirelessly to make Chicago a better place to live, work and play beyond the diamond. Through initiatives such as Charities Day, CWSC raises funds to promote youth education and advancement, share the love of the game through youth baseball initiatives, assist children and families in crisis and champion those battling cancer.

To date, CWSC has donated more than $40 million to non-profit organizations and community programs across the city and surrounding areas.
96 cents out of every dollar donated to CWSC is put back into the community.

The Amateur City Elite (ACE) program provides a pathway to the game of baseball for more than 150 youth annually, while offering educational and mentorship programming aimed at pulling kids away from the dangers and potentially fatal distractions of Chicago’s violent neighborhoods. Now in its 16th year, ACE provides the financial means and educational resources for youth ages 12 through 17. Since 2007, the ACE program has helped more than 250 athletes receive college scholarships, with 28 athletes drafted by Major League Baseball teams.

The White Sox are proud to support T eam Teflon, a Chicago-based travel softball program that aims to support and foster diversity in the sport of softball. Its goal is to assist underrepresented softball players in excelling on and off the field while instilling self-confidence and a sense of belonging through athletic development.

Through grant giving, CWSC and the White Sox Community Fund, a McCormick Foundation fund, support Chicago-based agencies that provide critically important services to our community's underserved and marginalized residents. In 2023, the White Sox announced cumulative charitable donations of nearly $1.9 million to 38 organizations.

The Volunteer Corps (VC), in partnership with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, unites White Sox fans through service opportunities throughout the Chicagoland community. In 2009, the organization established the VC in response to a call for Americans to better their communities through service. Now in its second decade, the VC continues to make an impact beyond the diamond. To date, more than 14,500 White Sox fans have served at 643 events, logging 60,132 hours of service – a value of over $1.2 million in labor.
