ACE Softball

ACE Softball

The White Sox established the Amateur City Elite (ACE) program in 2007 to reverse the declining interest and participation in baseball among African American youth while providing resources, mentorship and opportunities to young people across Chicagoland. Today, ACE continues to provide baseball instruction, mental health support, and educational support to more than 150 youth annually - helping prepare each participant to succeed in life beyond the diamond.

As the ACE program approaches its 20th anniversary, we are proud to announce the expansion of ACE to include an all-girls softball team beginning in the 2026-27 season. ACE Softball will be built on the same core principles that have made the baseball initiative a success:

  • Increase interest and participation in baseball and softball among African American youth

  • Prepare each participant to succeed in life beyond the diamond

  • Create opportunities and exposure for athletes in Chicago’s underserved communities among college recruiters
